Hello Games has revealed that the second major component of No Man’s Sky‘s upcoming Beyond update will be support for virtual reality.
“Grab the joystick and thruster to fly your starship over an unexplored alien planet as you peer out of the cockpit at the view below,” the developer writes. “Reach into your backpack to grab your multitool, touch it to switch to terrain manipulation, and carve out intricate shapes with unprecedented control. Play in multiplayer and casually wave to your non-VR friends or fist bump your PSVR peers.”
Following the update, PlayStation VR and Steam VR users will be able to play the entire game in virtual reality.
As previously announced, the Beyond update will also see the introduction of No Man’s Sky Online, which is described as “a radical new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players everywhere in the universe to meet and play together.”
In addition to virtual reality support and No Man’s Sky Online, Beyond will include a third major feature, but Hello Games is keeping quiet about it for now.
No Man’s Sky‘s Beyond update arrives on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this summer.
