No Man's Sky


 

The Path Finder Update is now available for No Man’s Sky on PlayStation 4 and PC, bringing with it visual updates, PlayStation 4 Pro support, new vehicles, and more.

To start with, all players will be able to enjoy a number of visual improvements, including improved textures, more accurate ambient lighting, improved post-processing, support for 4K (PS4 Pro), and more. A full rundown of the improvements can be found below:

  • High and ultra resolution textures
  • More accurate Ambient Lighting
  • Horizon Based Ambient Occlusion
  • High contrast lighting effects
  • Crepuscular Rays from the Sun
  • Improved post-processing with several filter options
  • HDR mode for compatible monitors and televisions

There’s also three new Exocrafts that players can use to explore planets: the Nomad, a hovercraft designed for speed and maneuverability; the Roamer, an all-round Exocraft suitable for rugged terrain, and the Colossus, a large vehicle with a giant cargo hold.

Other changes include the addition of ship specializations (Shuttle, Fighter, Hauler or Explorer) that improve performance in specific areas, new traders, a new currency, Exocraft Races, multi-tool specializations, new weapon modes, and the ability to share base creations via Steam Workshop on PC.

Finally, the Path Finder update introduces a brand-new Permadeath mode and increases the difficulty of Survival mode.
