No More Console Gaming Gear from Logitech

After posting an operating loss of $180 million for the third quarter of fiscal year 2013, Logitech announced today plans to discontinue their line of console gaming peripherals.
“We have also identified a number of product categories that no longer fit with our current strategic direction,” said Logitech president and chief executive officer Bracken P. Darrell. “As a result, we have initiated the process to divest our remote controls and digital video security categories, and we plan to discontinue other non-strategic products, such as speaker docks and console gaming peripherals, by the end of Calendar Year 2013.”
The company reiterated, however, that they would continue production of their PC-related peripherals, for which the company is known. The discontinuance only pertains to console gaming—Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, and so on.
