Nordic Games is developing a reboot of AquaNox, the company’s business and product development director Reinhard Pollice informed Polygon.
Nordic Games acquired the AquaNox IP in 2011, along with developer JoWood.
As to why the company is running with a more obscure property rather than any of the more notable ones they acquired from the sale of THQ’s properties in the wake of the company’s bankruptcy.
“We thought it was just an interesting concept for an action game,” Pollice told Polygon. “There’s not many underwater shooters out there. Some have underwater components, I can think of a few that have underwater missions, but it’s totally different.”
Pollice didn’t disclose any additional details about the reboot.
