Nintendo eShop Gets Legend Of Zelda, Star Fox 3D, More Mario Titles

Nintendo made a lot of announcements during their European “Nintendo Direct” presentation today, but a sizeable Nintendo eShop release schedule is hitting North America, too. Moreover, the timing’s not bad, either.
Not only are Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and Starfox 64 3D now available on the European Nintendo eShop, but they’ll be available across the Atlantic soon.
On October 18th, all four games will be downloadable for 3DS owners for $40 in digital money.
That’s roughly what you would pay for new copies at most retailers, but we suppose there’s some savings in not having to drive or take the bus to your local Target, GameStop, or Best Buy.
It’s a way to promote the 3DS XL, but the handheld system is going to facing stiff mobile competition this holiday.
Nintendo says that they’ll be committing more of their first-party 3DS titles to the eShop in the future, so that’ll likely include Kid Icarus: Uprising (great), Mario Tennis (good), or the worthless Pokémon Rumble Blast (ugh).
