North America PlayStation Network Boss Leaves Sony

THE BUZZ: Susan Panico, head of PlayStation Network in North America, has left Sony.

“We can confirm Susan has left SCEA. We thank her for her considerable contribution to our business and wish her every success in the future,” said Patrick Seybold spokesmen for SCEA.

EGM’s TAKE: A big hole has been left with this departure, but who will fill her shoes? Panico manged to grow the PlayStation Network to its current 77 million worldwide users and kept in regular contact with fans via the PlayStation Blog. Sadly her reign wasn’t all good fortune, as she was in charge during last year’s PlayStation Network hack. Sony refused to comment on who would fill the position, but one thing is for certain, she will be a tough act to follow.
