Nvidia ShadowPlay Gameplay-Recording Software Launching October 28

The beta version of Nvidia ShadowPlay, the company’s gameplay footage capture software, will launch October 28, Nvidia announced today.

ShadowPlay can record at up to 60 frames per second in 1080p, according to Nvidia. The software saves the last ten to twenty minutes of footage in a temporary buffer on hard drives. Players need only press Alt+F10 to save the footage permanently. Videos are not saved automatically in order to prevent excessive hard drive consumption. Videos are exported as .mp4 files compatible with most video editors (Sony Vegas, Adobe PRemier, Windows Movie Maker to list a few).

Nvidia plans to release a future GeForce Experience update to incorporate Twitch streaming into ShadowPlay.

Because ShadowPlay requires the on-board H.264 video encoder to work, it can can only be used with GeForce GTX 600 series and higher Nvidia graphic cards.

Nvidia hits all the pertinent ShadowPlay bullet points in the video embedded below.
