Capcom has released the New York Comic-Con trailer for DmC: Devil May Cry, the upcoming reboot to their popular action series. As expected, it features some quick snippets of gameplay sprinkled with heavy metal.
Many fans of the franchise have voiced immense displeasure with the character design, but the action looks solid.
Aside from new version of classic characters like Dante and Virgil, the combat system features a varied weapons-switching system that allows players to chain hits with several different weapons.
As Capcom notes, Dante’s arsenal will include “slicing” and “shotgun blasting,” so not too much could’ve changed.
Although “styles” and lock-on mechanics have been removed, it remains to be seen if the game’s new direction will add up in the final release, set for this January.
DmC: Devil May Cry‘s PC version was slated for a delayed release, but Ninja Theory seeks to shorten the time between that and the console version’s release. Check out the trailer below, which comes with a liberal doze of heavy metal music.
