The Oculus Rift virtual reality headset’s dev kits will no longer launch with Doom 3 BFG, the creators revealed today on their Kickstarter page.

According to the update, the team was “informed that DOOM 3 BFG Edition will not support the Rift development kit by the time we begin shipping.”

To make up for this, the Oculus Rift team are offering  replacement rewards: $20 Steam Wallet credit, $25 Oculus Store credit, or a full refund for the buyer’s pledge.

Replacement rewards can be selected by logging into the Oculus Order Manager and choosing which of the three you’d prefer. Selections must be made by April 5, or orders will default to the Oculus Store credit.

As for the Oculus Rift’s “Day Zero” dev kit launch titles, the team said: “If you’re worried that there won’t be any content to to try when your dev kit arrives: fear not. We’re hard at work with Meteor and Adhesive to make sure that Hawken’s an awesome, mech-piloting experience and there are more great developer showcases on the way!”
