Fancy owning your very own Oculus Rift unit at launch? Well all you have to do is place a pre-order and pony up the asking price and it’s yours.

Early pre-orders of the unit were previously reserved for people who pledged money to the Kickstarter, however now it has been opened up to anyone who has a spare $300 lying around, simply head over to the official site to place yours. Orders should be sent out at some point in January 2013.

Many are claiming that the Oculus Rift is the future of gaming, but having never tried one it’s hard for me to say either way.
