Earlier this month Activision pulled the Favela map from Modern Warfare 2‘s online rotation after offensive religious text was discovered on it, the map has now been edited and returned to the game.
The map caused offense to certain members of the Muslim community after a painting was discovered surrounded by holy text above a toilet in one of the map’s bathrooms. The painting itself wasn’t offensive, but its positioning was, it is frowned upon to place holy text in a bathroom/toilet as it is deemed an unclean environment.
As a result Activision pulled the map for editing. The map has now been added back to the PlayStation 3 version of the game via a new title update, and it is scheduled to return to the Xbox 360 and PC shortly.
