THE BUZZ: Crysis 3 was accidentally revealed via EA’s Origin service yesterday, and instead of playing dumb Crytek has announced an official reveal date.
“Yeah, what can we say other than that the best kept secret in shooters just can’t be contained,” a Crytek rep told CVG. ”We will share more information next Monday, April 16.”
Yesterday box art and listings for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the game appeared as listings on EA’s Origin service.
EGM’s TAKE: This may seem like EA and Crytek’s hands are being forced by this leak, however, for all we know they may have already been planning on revealing the title next week anyway. That would explain why the listings were ready to go on the Origin system. We doubt the publisher would have risked uploading the information weeks before a reveal. Either way, we are looking forward to seeing what Crytek is going to do with this third game, will it be more of the same or will they choose to experiment?
Are you excited for a third game or should they have left it at two? Leave your thoughts below.
