Official ‘My Resistance’ Site Finally Back Up

THE BUZZ: After a seven-week outage, the official Resistance community/stat-tracking site is back up and running.
While the reasons for the site being offline for so long still aren’t totally clear, in early November the site was taken down when visitors accused it of hosting some sort of malware. While Sony reps later claimed that there was no malware hosted on the site, an intrusion of some sort had taken place, one which was directed visitors to the site to an external non-Sony resource.
“We’re happy to report that all web services have been restored to MyResistance.net, and the site if fully back up and running, including current game stats,” MyResistance.net says in a posting today. “We apologies for any inconvenience, and appreciate your patience and support shown during this time.”
EGM’s TAKE: Obviously, the timing of this outage of MyResistance.net was terrible due to Resistance 3 having only been released just two moths prior. It’s been strange for me, because I happened to pick up and jump into R3 after the site went down—meaning I’ve never, ever played the game at a point where those services were up (until now). So, this entire time, I’ve seen options locked away in the game that required my use of the site—a site that, obviously, I couldn’t use.
