One Million Players Sign Up for The Secret World Beta

Funcom has announced that over one million players have signed up to take part in the upcoming beta tests for The Secret World.
“Shattering our previous beta records gives us great hope for The Secret World’s launch and its future,” says Funcom SVP of sales & marketing, Morten Larssen. “Combining this positive number with the excellent feedback we have received from both beta testers and the press that have played the game, make us very optimistic for a successful launch of The Secret World.”
The first beta test begins today, May 11, and runs until May 14. During this first test players can play as the Templar faction starting out in London. Everyone who pre-orders the game gets instant access to every beta test leading up to the game’s launch on June 19 – more content will be added with each test weekend. With Guild Wars 2 still lacking a release date, and The Old Republic being a few months old, The Secret World has a good unchallenged run at its June 19 release. Hopefully this will help the game establish itself.
