THE BUZZ: What was first suppose to be a 30 minute exclusive trial for OnLive members wanting to get their hands on Saints Row The Third, has been shortened without reason. The trial has been shortened to 15 minutes, cutting the amount of time to explore the city of Steelport in half. Saints Row The Third isn’t the only game to get their demo cut. According to OnLiveFans a 30 minute trial of NBA2K12 has also been cut without reason.

EGM’s TAKE: Bad OnLive, bad. Cutting a demo for brand new games without giving a reason is going to get you in trouble with your members. It’s likely these demos were shortened at the publisher’s request, but total transparency needs to be the order of the day for the up and coming platform to truly thrive. How much can you really get done in a game as big as Saints Row The Third in just 15 minutes, or even a half hour? It all depends on how fast we can get to that jet.
