Operation Supply Drop will hold its second annual donation drive, appropriately named “The 8-Bit Salute to Veterans Day,” on November 9 and 10, the organization announced.

Operation Supply Drop’s mission is to bring to bring videogames to soldiers deployed in combat zones and soldiers recovering in military hospitals in an effort to help with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) therapy, combat the soldier suicide epidemic, and promote socialization among deployed soldiers.

“We set a high bar for ourselves last year raising $58,000 in games and gear, but 2013 has been an amazing year for the charity,” said founder Captain Stephen “Shanghai Six” Machuga. “We’ve doubled the number of supply drops we plan on sending to Afghanistan and Walter Reed Hospital, I’m confident we can make these numbers happen…but we’re going to need some help.”

To this end, Operation Supply Drop’s organizers are calling on contributes to donate to the charity by hosting a 24-hour gaming marathon starting 9 a.m. ET November 9 lasting through the same time November 10. The men and women at OSD will be holding a 24-hour livestream event themselves, during which they’ll give out prizes every hour “(or maybe more)” to those who donate.

In turn, Operation Supply Drop hopes to put together twelve individual supply drops loaded with games, which will be distributed worldwide. Two additional supply drops for Walter Reed and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital will be outfitted with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 kits meant to go to the hospitals’ recover wings.
