THE BUZZ: A version 4.11 firmware update has now arrived for the PlayStation 3—and it’s totally optional!

EGM’s TAKE: Meaning, of course, that it won’t be all that much fun. When the updates are optional, you just know nothing major is going to be included.

What will system software 4.11 bring with it though? According to the PlayStation Blog, it will be “minor firmware improves certain aspects of system software, and is not mandatory to connect to PSN.”

So, if that sounds awesomely fantastical to you, and you live in the United States or Canada, you can now go to the System Update option on your PS3 and experience the wonders of certain aspects of your system being minimall improved!
