Orcs Must Die goes free-to-play with ‘Unchained’

Posted on April 11, 2014 AT 06:08am

Robot Entertainment is mixing things up with its latest entry in the Orcs Must Die series by adding five vs. five MOBA elements.

Orcs Must Die Unchained will be a free-to-play, team-based, five vs. five multiplayer game, with players able to send minions down each lane to attack the enemy team’s base. Of course the traps and cards are still all present and correct—it just wouldn’t be OMD without them. However, this time they will be used to help defend your lanes and summon minions to attack the other team’s lanes. There will also be an AI bot option if you wish to play alone.

If you want to play the game right now, you can purchase a founders pack with alpha access for $150. The Founders Pack also includes access to five heroes, $200 worth of in-game Gold, five exclusive skins, an extra alpha code, four beta codes, five copies of the original two Orcs Must Die games, and developer forum access. If you’re not feeling that generous, there’s a smaller $20 option that will grant you access to the beta once it begins.
