Robot Entertainment has announced that the latest entry in its Orcs Must Die series, Unchained, will be entering closed beta testing next week.
This latest entry breaks from the formula set out in the first two games by taking the action free-to-play, and also by adding seven other characters into the mix. That’s right, in Unchained it won’t just be you holding off the horde on your own, this time you’ll have three friends helping you, and four enemies trying to stop you.
In Unchained two teams of four will duke it out to destroy the other’s portal. Each team will have access to all the usual minions, spells, and traps that made the first two games so popular.
The closed beta begins next week on June 27, and sees the addition of a new map, three more heroes, and the deck editing system compared to what’s in the currently ongoing alpha test.
You can register for the beta over on the game’s official site, but if you’re already in the alpha then you are guaranteed access. If you don’t fancy chancing your random draw luck for an invite then you can buy your way in via one of the game’s Founder’s Packs that range from $19.99 to $149.99.
