Outlast‘s first piece of downloadable content, Whistleblower, has been delayed and will now launch in May, developer Red Barrels  has announced.

Whistleblower was originally set to launch in April for PC and PlayStation 4, but has been delayed until May 6 for PlayStation 4 for PC in both North America and Europe and PlayStation 4 in North America. European PS4 owners will have to wait until May 7.

The DLC will see you take control of Waylon Park, a software engineer under contract with Murkoff and the man who emailed Miles at the beginning of Outlast. “Spending a couple of weeks at Mount Massive, during which he was unable to even talk to his wife and son in Boulder thanks to strict security protocols, Weylon developed a deep-seated distrust of the profit-motivated scientists and doctors leading dangerous and irresponsible experiments on their patients,” according to the developer.

“Identifying with those poor souls fueled Weylon’s anger, and set the stage for his unmasking of Mount Massive’s rotten core.”

The add-on has been delayed to allow for “additional time to polish, mix the sound and debug,” according to co-founder Philippe Morin (via Polygon).
