Ouya has announced a new fund that will aid Kickstarter projects for its console. “Free the Games” will see Ouya put aside $1 million to help successfully Kickstarted projects between August 9, 2013 and August 10, 2014.

The company promises to match the funds of any successfully Kickstarted game which raises between $50,000 and $250,000. Of course there’s a catch, the developer must agree to be an Ouya exclusive for at least six months.

The most successful game to take part in the “Free the Games” fund will receive an additional $100,000. This fund will continue to help developers until either the money runs out or the August 10, 2014 end date is reached.
