Airtight Games has announced that Soul Fjord, their new dungeon crawler helmed by Portal designer Kim Swift, will be exclusively launching for Ouya on January 28.

The news broke in a Polygon report and was later confirmed on the game’s official Twitter feed.

Soul Fjord is a randomly generated dungeon crawler and, as the title suggests, it draws inspirations from both ’70s blaxploitation films and Norse mythology. Protagonist Magnus Jones, billed as a “funk Viking,” must fight his way up the tree of life, Yggdrasil, to save the world from Ragnarok, the Nordic apocalypse. Yeah, it’s a bit weird.

The game, which was fully funded by Ouya, will operate on a free-to-play model with microtransactions.
