Jeff Kaplan has once again titillated the Overwatch community with a simple comment, this time in the form of a vague promise about the amount of new content that’s coming soon to the shooter.

A fan recently posted to the Overwatch forums with a comment that they were running out of content to unlock at their high rank. Kaplan responded with assurances that there would be plenty to unlock soon, with new content dropping in upcoming seasonal events, as well as through additions to base loot boxes.

“We have a ton of new content coming. Not only are there some really awesome items coming for upcoming events, early next year we’ll be adding *a lot* of new items to the base loot box. You don’t have long to wait!” Kaplan wrote. One fan responded to Kaplan’s statement, predicting that the content would manifest as nothing more than Overwatch World League skins, but Kaplan clarified that League skins would be “something different entirely.”

Presumably, Kaplan was teasing this year’s Christmas event, which fans should expect an official announcement for any day now. Assuming it is handled like the recent return of Overwatch‘s Halloween event, new Christmas skins will be introduced into the game through limited-time loot boxes, alongside returning skins from last year’s event.

Speaking of new Overwatch content, the game’s new Blizzard World map—debuted at the recent BlizzCon 2017—can be tried out right now on the game’s public test region. Blizzard World isn’t scheduled to hit the main game until early next year, so this may be the only place fans can try it for a while. When it does launch, it will come with a collection of new Overwatch skins themed around other Blizzard properties, which is likely part of what Kaplan was hinting at.
