Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan recently ranked the 10 most played heroes for the shooter’s seven different competitive rank tiers.

Kaplan posted the list to the official Overwatch forums. The hero rankings are as of the start of Season 9, March 1st, giving players an idea of where their favorite heroes stand in the competitive metas of the different skill tiers this season. The rankings are as follows (with D.Va unsurprisingly topping almost every list):

Bronze

  1. D.Va
  2. Mercy
  3. Junkrat
  4. Moira
  5. Reinhardt
  6. Soldier: 76
  7. Lucio
  8. Genji
  9. Roadhog
  10. Ana

Silver

  1. D.Va
  2. Moira
  3. Mercy
  4. Junkrat
  5. Reinhardt
  6. Soldier: 76
  7. Lucio
  8. Genji
  9. Roadhog
  10. Ana

Gold

  1. D.Va
  2. Moira
  3. Mercy
  4. Reinhardt
  5. Soldier: 76
  6. Junkrat
  7. Genji
  8. Roadhog
  9. Lucio
  10. Ana

Platinum

  1. Moira
  2. D.Va
  3. Mercy
  4. Genji
  5. Reinhardt
  6. Roadhog
  7. Ana
  8. Zenyatta
  9. McCree
  10. Soldier: 76

Diamond

  1. Moira
  2. D.Va
  3. Genji
  4. Mercy
  5. Roadhog
  6. Zenyatta
  7. Ana
  8. McCree
  9. Tracer
  10. Reinhardt

Master

  1. D.Va
  2. Moira
  3. Mercy
  4. Genji
  5. Zenyatta
  6. Roadhog
  7. Tracer
  8. McCree
  9. Ana
  10. Winston

Grandmaster

  1. D.Va
  2. Tracer
  3. Zenyatta
  4. Moira
  5. Genji
  6. Roadhog
  7. Lucio
  8. Mercy
  9. Winston
  10. McCree

The lists are presumably from most used down to least used, although Kaplan doesn’t specify. He also doesn’t detail whether these rankings are PC only, or across all platforms, but the latter seems most likely. Considering the significant nerfs D.Va faced last year, it is surprising to see her still so prominent. Likewise, it is interesting to see how Moira is resonating with the community, as it is rare to see a character this new so ubiquitously played.

Speaking of new support heroes, Overwatch‘s 27th hero, Brigitte, was recently announced. The hero is currently on the game’s public test region, but she is expected to hit the full game in the next week or two, and we should expect her to make these most-played lists shortly after.
