Overwatch

After being on Overwatch‘s public test region for over a week, the new hero Baptiste has had all of his cosmetics revealed, including some curiously familiar Legendary skins.

Two of the character’s Legendary skins were teased on the official Overwatch Twitter account before the hero’s full spread of skins, voice lines, emotes, highlight intros, and sprays went live on the game’s PTR. Baptiste’s Legendary skins fall under two thematic categories, special ops and pirate, with the former making the Support character look like a badass sci-fi solider, and the latter styling him with wooden gear, an eye patch, and everything else needed for the life of a pirate. Blizzard seems to be using pirate designs as a bit of a creative crutch at this point, considering Torbjorn, Junkrat, Roadhog, and Ana also bear skins based on the seafaring criminals.

While Epic skins usually have nothing on Legendary skins, Baptiste’s Epics are surprisingly impressive. His Camouflage skin is covered in leaves, almost like a fusion between Soldier: 76’s Commando: 76 skin and Reinhardt’s Greifhardt skin, while Baptiste’s Wasteland skin comes with a robotic face mask and desert color palette

Baptiste was not the only thing recently added to Overwatch‘s PTR. Alongside the new hero came a plethora of balancing tweaks to the game, so plentiful they had to be released in two parts. Baptiste, along with these new balance changes, are expected to hit the full game in two weeks or less.
