Overwatch

Update: Two more hero skins have been revealed in the lead up to Overwatch‘s “Year of the Pig” Lunar New Year event. Torbjorn and Zenyatta were next up on the block to earn new skins, and as predicted, they follow the theme of Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

If this event follows the trend of recent events, we have one more Legendary skin and three Epic skins still in store. We will likely get at least one more reveal before the event drops on the 24th, but whether or not all of the skins will get reveals prior to the event remains to be seen.

Original Story: The first handful of skins for Overwatch‘s “Year of the Pig” Lunar New Year event have been revealed, with a few more still on the way.

As is now customary, developer Blizzard teases event skins on Twitter leading up to the event’s launch. With Overwatch‘s Lunar New Year right around the corner, the event’s first three Legendary skins have been shown off, including skins for Reaper, Hanzo, and Reinhardt.

Every Lunar New Year event follows a theme, like the first year basing its skins on characters from the 16th-century novel Journey to the West, and the second year on Chinese celestial deities. This year’s event once again focuses on a historical Chinese novel, specifically the 14th-century Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Based on recent Overwatch events, there are likely three more Legendary skins and three Epic skins launching for this event, and fans should expect them to somehow be influenced by Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Overwatch‘s “Year of the Pig” Lunar New Year event starts on January 24th, and runs until February 18th.
