Overwatch’s 2019 Summer Games get underway
Blizzard has kicked off the Summer Games event in Overwatch, offering players the chance to earn a number of new cosmetic items.
The event is live until August 5th and includes a new weekly challenges feature, which will reward players with limited-time skins, sprays, and player icons for completing various challenges.
Each week, players will have to get a total of nine wins in either Quick Play, Competitive, or Arcade to unlock a new spray, player icon, and epic skin. In week one, which runs until July 22nd, players will be able to earn the Shark Attack Spray (3 Games), Punchimari Icon (6 Wins), and American Reaper Skin (9 Wins). While week two offers the Snorkelling Spray (3 Wins), Tennismari Icon (6 Wins), and Zhongguo Mei Skin (9 Wins). Finally, players can earn the Sand Castle Spray (3 Wins), Footballmari (6 Wins), and Bundesadler Reinhardt Skin (9 Wins).
In addition to the above, the Summer Games Loot Boxes have returned with several new cosmetics to earn, including four new legendary skins, two new emotes, and one new highlight intro. There’s also all of the cosmetics from previous Summer Games events.
Overwatch is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
