The classic dot-eating, ghost-avoiding character of Pac-Man will be joining the Super Smash Bros. roster on Wii U and 3DS, Nintendo has confirmed.

Game director Masahiro Sakurai announced the character during a Smash Bros Invitational event in Los Angeles. By the looks of the reveal trailer, Pac-Man will appear in his 3D form, but also has the ability to transform into his original 2D shape for certain attacks.

“Pac-Man has some interesting abilities like throwing fruit and eating power pellets,” Nintendo wrote on Twitter following the announcement.

Nintendo also revealed that Mr. Game & Watch will return as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros.

The 3DS version of the game is set to release in October, while the Wii U version is scheduled for a holiday 2014 release.
