Pain Returning to PS3 as a Free-to-Play Version

Posted on October 25, 2013 AT 01:09pm

Pain, one of the PS3’s first big downloadable games, is returning to the system as a free-to-play title, Sony revealed during the Brazil Game Show.

Argentinian studio QB9 is taking over development responsibilities from original developer Idol Minds. Their free-to-play version will retain all the original content and gameplay mechanics.

Pain revolves around ragdoll physics and environmental destruction. Players slingshot characters into the surrounding environment, racking up points by putting the hurt on the character and the surrounding environment alike.

Sony did not provide details as to when Pain’s free-to-play version would be released, nor what regions it would be released in.
