Hi-Rez Studios has announced a new battle royale mode for its hero shooter Paladins at HRX 2018 called Battlegrounds.
The mode is described as “the first-ever hero-shooter battle royale” and throws 100 players onto a map that is “over 300 times the square footage of a typical Paladins‘ Siege map.”
“You’ll hop onto your mounts and start exploring, looting your way through more than four dozen outposts and tracking zeppelins that drop legendary gear,” the developer added. “As the fog contracts, the stakes are raised. The last team standing wins, and that’s not easy with 100 players!”
Paladins: Battlegrounds is scheduled to launch at some point during 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
As well as announcing this new mode, the developer also unveiled a brand-new Champion, Moji, a powerful magician who summons exotic creatures and rides her favorite two-headed beast into battle.
Paladins is available now as a free download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
