PAX 2012: Insomniac’s Multi-Platform Co-op Shooter Overstrike is Now Fuse
Posted on August 31, 2012 AT 02:29pm
During his PAX Prime Keynote, Insomniac’s president and CEO Ted Price announced that the studio was working on an new IP called Fuse, showing off a single screenshot from the game. Eagle-eyed fans noticed tha the art style looked similar to Overstrike, the co-op shooter the developer unveiled all the way back at E3 2011, and EGM can confirm that the two games are one and the same.
Little was known about Overstike, as Insomniac has been fairly tight-lipped about the game since the initial announcement trailer. Though the game has apparently been retooled in addition to being given a new title, it’s probably a safe bet that the centerpiece of the game, four-player co-op, has remained intact.
Overstrike was in development for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, making it Insomniac’s first multiplatform game. A launch window was not announced.
