PAX 2012: Nintendo Fans Break World Record For Kirby’s 25th Anniversary
Posted on September 2, 2012 AT 02:25pm
Nintendo issued a call to arms for all PAX attendees to help break the Guinness World Record for “most people simultaneously blowing a chewing-gum bubble simultaneously.” Happy Birthday, Kirby—that record’s toast.
When the event was over, the official count was 536 people who gathered up for the occasion, all of them getting a commemorative pink Kirby-style shirt for their troubles.
Oh, and they’ll also get a spot in history, once the official Guinness website is updated.
Right now, the old record of 304 “students, volleyball players, and teachers” from Kirkwood Community College is still there.
It took just less than two years for that record to fall, though—perhaps there’ll be another competitor?
Nintendo is also being quick to remind everybody that Kirby’s Dream Collection: Special Edition for the Nintendo Wii will debut on September 16th. It includes six Kirby games, a commemorative booklet, and some extra goodies.
