PAX Australia Reportedly Set For Melbourne Showgrounds Next July
Posted on September 27, 2012 AT 12:25pm
Penny Arcade is taking their convention circuit to Australia from July 19th to July 21th in 2013, according to sales documents released by the webcomic/media company. ‘Time to start planning, folks.
According to Kotaku Australia, the previous rumour that “PAX Aus” would take place in Brisbane as turned out to be false, as the convention’s international jaunt will instead head to Melbourne.
Even though the show is likely to sell out no matter where in the country it goes, Melbourne will likely provide a lot more press and local activity.
Aside from being the capital of the state of Victoria, the city is Australia’s second-largest city with four million residents.
(Sydney is the most populous, with over 4.6 million people.)
All the information in sales document is seemingly final, stating that the Melbourne Showgrounds will play host to the convention next year, which will in turn be organised locally by ReedPOP. For everyone in North America and Europe, that’s going to be one heck of an expensive plane trip and hotel rate.
