Payday 2‘s Death Wish update is now live on PC, adding a new difficulty level, a new weapon, new enemies, and 35 new achievements.
The update is completely free and upon downloading it players will be rewarded with the “350K” brass knuckles melee weapon, which is named after the game’s 350,000 member Steam community. The major part of this update is the new Death Wish difficulty mode that is available for all heists in the game. “No one knows how the Death Wish difficulty alters a heist,” developer Overkill Software teased. Bridges that were whole can now be destroyed and skylights will suddenly appear in building roofs.
Two new enemy types, the GENSEC Elite SWAT team and the haunting, LMG-wielding Elite Bulldozer, have also been added to the game alongside four new masks—earned by completing the game on hard, very hard, OVERKILL and Death Wish difficulties.
When asked if PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players would also be getting this free update, Overkill told VG247: “Both patches are in test right now, no word on when they will be approved.”
