People Can Fly Working On New Project – Bulletstorm 2 Shelved

THE BUZZ: Epic Games’ president Mike Capps has revealed that Bulletstorm 2 was in the early stages of development at People Can Fly, but has since been shelved.
The developer who was in charge of the first game has now been moved to a more suitable project.
“We thought a lot about a sequel, and had done some initial development on it, but we found a project that we thought was a better fit for People Can Fly,” he told Gamespot. “We haven’t announced that yet, but we will be announcing it pretty soon.”
Capps did mention that he’d like to return to Bulletstorm one day: ”I’d love to go back. I think there’s more to do with Bulletstorm. Heck, it kind of ended wanting more. I’d love to see another project, but right now we don’t have anything to talk about.”
EGM’s TAKE: While Bulletstorm was a fun, high-scoring romp through a shooting gallery full of enemies, it lacked any sort of lasting appeal. The news that the sequel has been shelved will probably leave many relatively happy that this was a one-off game that offered something a little different. It’s one of those titles that doesn’t need a sequel, if they offer more of the same people are going to get bored second time around. However, we are looking forward to seeing what People Can Fly is working on.
