Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has confirmed that Borderlands 3 is not in development at the studio, despite what Internet rumors may claim.
Yesterday the Internet flipped out over a statement made by Anthony Burch, lead writer on the Borderlands franchise, which said that the team was apparently already working on ideas for the next Borderlands game. Pitchford took to Twitter saying, “Chill out internet. No one has started working on a sequel to Borderlands 2. It’s fun to talk and think, but actual effort is focused on Borderlands 2 DLC, Aliens, etc.”
“Clean and Simple truth: The only Borderlands related game development work going on right now is for Borderlands 2,” he added. “Anthony was speaking to his thoughts. We’re all thinking about it and it’s exciting to think. But there’s no project – no actual effort.”
So you may as well calm down about Borderlands 3 and start getting excited about the four pieces of Borderlands 2 campaign DLC that are coming over the next few months.
How are you liking Borderlands 2? Excited for the DLC?
