Sony Online Entertainment’s massively multiplayer first-person shooter PlanetSide 2 will finally enter beta on PlayStation 4 next month.

SOE president John Smedley revealed on Twitter that the beta has gone through certification and will be available in “either the week of the 13th or 20th.” Smedley added that a more concrete date will be given once the development team returns to work on January 5.

Interested players can sign up for the closed beta here.

Earlier this month, creative director Matt Higby explained that the reason for the long wait for the PS4 release is due to it being a “full-on console experience,? and not just a PC port.

Sony Online Entertainment’s massively multiplayer first-person shooter PlanetSide 2 will finally enter beta on PlayStation 4 next month.
