Daybreak has revealed the official PlayStation 4 release date of its popular free-to-play first-person shooter.

The PlayStation 4 version of PlanetSide 2 will contain some unique features that are currently unavailable in the PC version, such as a new battle map called Koltyr. Daybreak also plans to release frequent game updates following the game’s launch, which will include deeper features, holiday events, new content, new in-game marketplace items, and more.

“On behalf of the PlanetSide 2 development team, we’d like to thank the tens of thousands of players that have taken part in the closed beta testing,” said Andy Sites, Director of Development on PlanetSide 2. “Because of you, we’ve been able to make a ton of refinements to the game that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible without your valuable feedback.”

While the game is free-to-play, the developer is also offering an optional membership for $14.99 per month. This membership includes increased experience gain, marketplace discounts, a monthly stipend of Battle Cash, and access to a monthly double XP event.

PlanetSide 2 will be available on PlayStation 4 from June 23 in North America and Europe.
