A new update for Plants vs. Zombies 2 adds a new linear map, opens up all levels previously blocked by Key Gates, and introduces Gargantaurs to the enemy roster, PopCap Games announced.
Based on fan feedback, PopCap decided to eliminate keys from the game, which were required to get past the locked levels and could only be obtained by grinding zombie kills for occasional drops or purchasing them as a microtransaction.
The update also introduces a Turbo button for players who want to hasten the pace, ramping up the speed of the sun, planting, and zombie movement.
The Gargantaurs, back from the original Plants vs. Zombies, appear on level 8 of every world. Like in the original game, they pack a high amount of health and crush plants as opposed to eating them.
Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time is available now on iOS and Android devices.
