Super Mario 3D World contains a fifth playable character and a hidden bonus to unlock, Nintendo revealed during their Nintendo Direct presentation this morning.
The unlockable bonus game, Luigi Bros., is a Luigi-themed skin of the original 1983 Mario Bros. arcade game. Nintendo didn’t spoil how it is unlocked with Super Mario 3D World, but they did mention that anyone with New Super Luigi U save data will be access this old-school bonus game immediately.
As for the fifth playable character, that was revealed to be Super Mario Galaxy’s Princess Rosalina, whose unique skill is a spin attack, which also serves as a short double-jump. Always nice to see the womenfolk from Mario star in a capacity beyond “captive.”
These were just two of the “10 New Things from Super Mario 3D World” Nintendo teased by way of video this morning. You can check out the full video below to see some of the other Super Mario 3D World features being touted.
