Evolution Studios has explained the differences between the retail and free PlayStation Plus versions of its upcoming racer DriveClub.

Posting on NeoGAF, design director Paul Rustchynsky revealed the availability of the PlayStation Plus version, stating that it “will be available well into the new year.” He also confirmed that there will be a discount offered to users who upgrade from the PS Plus version.

“There will be a discount to upgrade to the full digital edition from the PS+ edition,” he wrote, “but prices won’t be announced for a few more weeks yet.”

Rustchynsky also revealed that players will be able to earn the game’s Platinum Trophy in the PS Plus Edition. “You can earn the platinum trophy in the PS+ Edition, remember it’s the full game minus a few cars/tracks,” he explained.
