Microsoft announced during Gamescom that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will leave Xbox Game Preview and officially launch on September 4th, 2018.
“While our team will continue to enhance the game and deliver new content to Xbox players, the Full Product Release marks the culmination of our efforts in Xbox Game Preview, where we worked closely with Xbox and the passionate and engaged Xbox community to regularly update, tune, stabilize and enhance the PUBG experience for Xbox One,” PUBG console lead Koo Sung Jeong said.
Version 1.0 of PUBG on Xbox One will include the Sanhok map, the deathmatch-style War Mode, and the introduction of Event Pass: Sanhok. The Event Pass was released earlier this year on PC and offers players a new way to earn cosmetic items.
Microsoft also announced that PUBG will be getting a retail release to celebrate version 1.0 launching. The retail release will be available from September 4th and includes the Xbox #1.0/99 Set DLC which contains an exclusive collection of clothing and accessories inspired by Xbox brand colors. The DLC will also be available digitally for a limited time on the same day.
Finally, Microsoft unveiled the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Limited Edition Xbox Wireless Controller. This special edition controller will be available from October 30th for $69.99.
