New combat animations are in the works for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, bringing a new level of authenticity to the survival simulation.
The animations, designed by gameplay lead “smookie”, were posted to the game’s official Twitter account by PUBG creator Brendan Greene. The animations involve combat roles to the prone position, and while they are still a work in progress, the finished iterations will provide players the opportunity to more seamlessly transition between standing and prone fire.

For those that think the maneuver is slow, you’re right, and that is being addressed.
It will be faster of course

It is unclear when players will see the animations, but fans can still look forward to first-person only servers and frame-of-view sliders expected to drop in the game’s August 3rd update.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is currently the most played non-Valve game on Steam, recently hitting over five million early-access copies sold. Despite this success, major new content for the experience, such as maps, is still a few months off.
