Battlefield

One Battlefield 1 player tried taking the role of commander to its logical conclusion by controlling his character through voice commands alone… and it didn’t work out so well.

Other, similar feats have been attempted in the past, such as the gamer that beat Dark Souls with a Guitar Hero peripheral, but at least those unorthodox methods were relatively reliable. To give viewers a taste of what he was in for, YouTuber Slimecicle began his masochistic endeavor by demonstrating the inconsistency of his voice recognition software. Shortly after follows more than five minutes of seemingly infuriating yet genuinely hilarious gameplay.

For the less insane among us, Battlefield 1 launches October 21st on PlayStation 4, Xbox One,and PC. While the game’s open beta just ended, talks of a new map being added could suggest another beta may go live before the game’s launch.

Nick didn’t start gaming until mid-2006. Once his parents finally allowed a console into the house, it was all uphill from there. Starting out with a PS2, he grew an affinity for Sony consoles and moved on to the PS3, and now the PS4. He keeps his gaming palette wide, but, gun to his head, he’d have to say shooters are his genre of choice. Find him on Twitter @idole808
