PlayStation 3 Exploit Allows Vita to Play Battlefield 3, Arkham City and More

THE BUZZ: A PS3 firmware hack allows the Vita to play PlayStation 3 games such as Battlefield 3 and Batman: Arkham City.
The PS3 used in the videos below is running a hacked version of firmware 3.55. PS3 firmware version 4.00 added Vita support to the console, however version 3.55 sees the handheld as a mobile phone which allows the user to play games through the remote play feature.
EGM’s TAKE: While this may look cool, the severe input lag makes the games pretty much unplayable. However, it’s always interesting to see what hackers can achieve. The fact that the Vita is able to play all of these top titles adds to the suggestion by Sony that at some point all PlayStation 3 titles will be playable on Vita via official means. The titles look just as good as there console counterparts, however considering the fact that you need to be in range of the console it doesn’t really offer much to players, bar novelty value. We do not condone hacking in any way, and strongly suggest that you do not put unofficial firmware on your consoles as it could cause irreversible damage.
