THE BUZZ: Sony has released more information on the upcoming changes included in the PlayStation 4.0 firmware update later this week.

Version 4.0 prepares the console for the release of the PlayStation Vita in Japan by making the system a more effective content management hub. Vita owners will be able to move ”games, music, photos, and videos between the handheld and its bigger brother, back up save data to the PS3′s hard drive, and update the system software.” Additionally, PlayStation Plus members will now be able choose to enable or disable automatic updates game patches, system software, recommended games and videos as well as sync trophy information.

EGM’s TAKE: Many PlayStation 3 owners will be disappointed if this is all that Sony will be offering with the 4.0 update.
