PlayStation 3 Firmware 4.45 Fix Coming Next Week

Posted on June 21, 2013 AT 08:41am

Sony has ”identified the issue” which caused the problems in its most recent PlayStation 3 firmware update and will be rolling out a fix next week.

“We have identified the issue related to the PlayStation 3 software update (version 4.45) that impacted a small number of PS3 systems earlier this week. A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue,” the company told Videogamer.com.

“Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience.”

When the update went live earlier this week a “small number” of users reported that it had caused their consoles to freeze at the boot screen. Sony pulled the update following the reports.
