Sony has released firmware update 4.40 for PlayStation 3 which adds support for the company’s RC-S380 NFC-powered reader device.

Update 4.40 is now live across all territories (if it’s not with you yet give it a couple of hours) and improves overall system stability as well as allowing Sony’s console to communicate with the RC-S380 device. More details on this device can be found here.

Not a major update, but still worth downloading for the additional system stability.
