Sony has released an optional system software update for PlayStation 3 that takes the console up to version 4.65.

“New PS3 system software 4.65 is a minor optional update that improves stability during the use of some features,” the official PlayStation Twitter account said. Now, as it says this is an optional update, so if you don’t feel like downloading it then you don’t have to.

Yesterday, Sony announced that the PlayStation Network was fully back online following a distributed denial of service attack that took the network down over the weekend. Sony added that there was no intrusion during the attack, and that all personal information is safe.
