Less than a month after Microsoft announced that the Xbox 360 had surpassed 70 million units sold worldwide Sony has announced the same for the PlayStation 3, proving that the consoles are almost neck-and-neck.
The platform holder also revealed that PlayStation Move sales have passed the 15 million mark. The Xbox 360 launched in November 2005 and the PlayStation 3 in November 2006, meaning that a pretty large gap has been closed to barely anything.
PlayStation 3 sales stood at 63.9 million as of March 31. Sony also revealed that there are currently 3,590 games available for the PlayStation 3.
